Challenging questions, high impact work, fun people!
Are you excited by the issues at the intersection of AI, data, and law? Luminos.Law is a boutique law firm based in Washington, D.C. dealing primarily with corporate clients who develop, procure, sell, or operate algorithmic and advanced analytics systems, including Generative AI and Machine Learning based products and services. We also do limited work with US Government agencies, and some non-profit or foundation organizations.
Our firm is hiring a data scientist to help our clients identify, design, evaluate, and monitor their AI models – from product design to deployment and all points of data collection and management. In this position, you’ll help craft technically-sound AI and data governance practices and test whether companies have effectively implemented model validation, bias mitigation, deidentification, and other quantitative methods of assessing AI integration into commercial products and services. You’ll be working as part of a team including both other data scientists and lawyers to support a broad range of efforts at the intersection of technology and law. Close collaboration and strong communication are central to our work, in addition to a deep understanding of the statistical and technical requirements of AI engineering.
Professional development opportunities and career advancement will be available for those who succeed in this environment. Opportunities for publishing work and/or public speaking will be strongly encouraged and provided for those interested.
This is a 100% remote position; willingness to work in general alignment with an East Coast workday is encouraged. Salary range will be $110k - $160k depending on experience and skills. We offer generous healthcare benefits, vacation plans, and 401k options.
We look forward to having you as part of our team!
